Privacy Policy

QuoteMatch is an independent matching service that connects Ontario businesses with RIBO-licensed commercial insurance brokers. We are not an insurance brokerage or insurer, and we do not sell, quote, or bind insurance policies.

When you complete an application or contact us, we collect:

• Business details: industry, business structure, business name, years in business, number of employees, annual revenue, and prior insurance claims. Applications are for Ontario businesses.
• Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number.
• Anything you tell us when you email or call us.
• Technical information our hosting provider records automatically, such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used to operate and secure the site.

We only ask for what brokers need to assess your business. Please do not include sensitive information such as health records or banking details in your application.

• To match your business with RIBO-licensed brokerages that write your type of risk in Ontario.
• To share your application with those brokerages so they can follow up with coverage options.
• To answer questions you send us.
• To operate, secure, and improve the website, and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Partner brokerages. When you submit an application, we share it with one or more licensed commercial insurance brokerages whose markets fit your industry in Ontario. Each brokerage is an independent business and handles your information under its own privacy policy and its regulatory obligations.

Service providers. We use third-party providers for website hosting, email, and data storage. They may only use your information to provide services to us and must protect it.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, court order, or a regulator, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

By submitting an application, you consent to us collecting your information and sharing it with partner brokerages for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. If you do, we will stop sharing your information and ask the brokerages we sent it to stop contacting you. Brokerages that have already received your application may keep records they are legally required to keep.

Submitting an application means you are asking to be contacted about commercial insurance. We and the brokerages we match you with may contact you by email, phone, or text about that request. We will not send you promotional messages unrelated to your request without your express consent, and every commercial email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

We currently use only the cookies and similar technologies needed for the site to function. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Your information may be stored or processed by our service providers outside Canada, including in the United States. When it is, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities in that country. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian law.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used or shared.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Withdraw your consent to further use or sharing, subject to legal or contractual limits.
• Ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it or are not legally required to keep it.

Send requests to our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Our service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

We may update this policy as our service changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
